Berber Brouwer was admitted to the Bar in 2003 and began her practice at Leidsegracht in 2006. Previously, she worked as an attorney at Lovells for 3.5 years.
Berber specialises in intellectual property law. At Lovells she gained extensive experience in patent law and litigation law. She broadened her knowledge and experience at Leidsegracht Advocaten, specialising in trademark law, copyright law, domain name law, design law, protection of know-how, advertising law and media and entertainment law. She runs a diverse national and international consultancy and litigation practice, which is not restricted to intellectual property law but also regularly includes the law of obligations, property law, competition law and private international law.
Berber has extensive experience in drafting and assessing contracts, including licence and distribution agreements.
Berber read law at VU University Amsterdam, graduating with distinction in 2002. During her studies she completed a semester at the University of Victoria in Canada. She is a regular contributor to the Internet site Boek9.nl, which specialises in intellectual property law. She also published in the Intellectual Property and Entertainment Newsletter of the International Bar Association. Berber has a fluent command of written and spoken English.
