Gitta van der Meer joined Leidsegracht Advocaten in mid-2007, having previously worked as an attorney for Lovells LLP since 2004. Specialising in intellectual property law, Gitta originally focused primarily on patent law and laws and regulations related to the pharmaceutical industry. She has since extended her specialisations to include patent law, model law, copyright law and domain name law, in addition to general legal practice (liability, advertising, competition and contracts).
Gitta graduated from the University of Groningen with a degree in Business Law and Private Law, specialising in intellectual property law and competition law. While at university, she held several board positions and spent a semester at the University of Poitiers in France. Gitta has a fluent spoken and written command of English and a good knowledge of French, in addition to having a basic command of German and Spanish.
